The Art of It
May/June 2026

Adam Van Doren’s work frequently explores the relationship between architecture and the natural landscape. From June 6 to August 23, his paintings will be on exhibit at Berkshire Botanical Garden’s Leonhardt Galleries in Stockbridge. Van Doren often works in watercolor, which he says can be easily transported and worked quickly while the light changes. The exhibition will showcase scenes from New York City (his home and studio), Cornwall, Connecticut (his country retreat), and Europe (his travels abroad). The exhibition is curated by Donna Hassler, art historian and director emerita of Chesterwood. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 5. Van Doren will hold a master class in watercolor on July 25. berkshirebotanical.org —Anastasia Stanmeyer

This exhibition sounds like the perfect escape—art and nature together always feel healing. Makes me want to put my phone down and just breathe. Speaking of which, I had to sort out a subscription headache recently, and reading through https://people-magazine.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html actually helped me figure out who to call. Peaceful moments like this remind me why stepping away from the noise matters.
