About Us

Berkshire Magazine has spent over 14 years cementing itself as the premier lifestyle publication in Western Massachusetts. Founding editor-in-chief Anastasia Stanmeyer leads the editorial content, and the magazine has earned acclaim for its intellectually curious profiles on regional icons and visiting luminaries.
Over the years, Berkshire Magazine has featured intimate conversations and exclusive features with legendary musicians like James Taylor, Arlo Guthrie, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, Annie Lennox, Sonny Rollins, Wynton Marsalis, and Yo-Yo Ma; composers and conductors John Williams and William Finn; and contemporary artists like Laurie Anderson, Jarvis Rockwell, and Hunt Slonem. The magazine highlights notable screen personalities, filmmakers, and stage icons who live in, vacation in, or have deep artistic ties to the region, such as Elizabeth Banks, Elizabeth Perkins, Karen Allen, Alfre Woodard, Gilbert Gottfried, and Jane Curtin, as well as lifestyle legends such as Martha Stewart and Alice Brock.
Beyond national celebrities, the magazine focuses heavily on regional societal anchors, featuring public figures like Rachel Maddow, Governors Maura Healey and Deval Patrick, feminist trailblazer Letty Cottin Pogrebin, and author/food activist Michael Pollan, while celebrating 25 exceptional area changemakers annually through its signature "Berkshire 25" honors.
Berkshire Magazine is primarily a regional lifestyle and culture guide published six times a year, although its coverage thoughtfully balances deep dives into social, environmental, and economic topics with regular features on the arts, homes and gardens, historical properties, outdoor recreation, nonprofits organizations, and the LGBTQ+ community. Through this rich tapestry of storytelling and photography, Berkshire Magazine remains both a reflection of and a definitive guide to the unique spirit of the region.

Berkshire Magazine tells the stories and reflects the natural beauty and the texture of the region—connecting us all a bit more to the place we love so much.
